Meet Our Principal

Ms. Ivery realized early that she had a calling on her life to make a positive impact on students' lives through her desire to work with children during a service project in high school volunteering with a local elementary school while attending college and later as a volunteer coach. She decided to answer the call and follow in her family footsteps entering the field of education with Dallas ISD for the past 20 years. She started her teaching career at G.W. Carver Learning Center and received Master Teacher recognition. Ms. Ivery transitioned to Conrad High School as a teach and coach where she laid the foundation for the NAF Academy of Hospitality and Tourism to receive Model Academy Recognition, received NFTE Teacher of the Year, developed a job shadowing program, and assisted with training athletes to compete at the next level.

Ms. Ivery furthered her career by becoming a Campus Instructional Coach at Hotchkiss Elementary where she refined the PLC process and assisted with the growth and development of teachers. In 2018, Ms. Ivery began her Assistant Principalship journey at Martin Weiss School of Leadership. While under the leadership of her principal, she excelled as an instructional leader, helping the school to increase the number of distinctions, receive Lighthouse status, and earn an Honor Roll distinction in the Leader In Me Program. During her time at Adelle Turner Elementary as a Transformational Leaders, she assisted with improving the schools rating from a 'C' campus to being rated as a Breakthrough Campus while earning an Academic Comparative Growth Distinction.

Ms. Ivery is humbled at the opportunity to continue to grow the lives of others. Having overcome opposition and diversity early in life, it has become her driving force to ensure all students' needs are being met through equity and excellence. She believes it takes a village to raise and have a positive impact on the lives of students. She is excited to continue her journey at T.G. Terry Elementary.
